Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has tied the knot with Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, a serving member of the Edo State House of Assembly, in a private traditional ceremony held in Abuja.

Despite the privacy of the event, images and videos from the celebration quickly circulated online, offering glimpses of the couple’s regal attire and the ceremony’s intimate cultural elegance. 2Baba appeared in a crisp white native shirt and wrapper, with grey embroidery and coral bead accessories, while his bride wore a striking red off-shoulder gown, a coral-beaded “okuku” crown, and complementary coral jewels symbols of Edo heritage and royalty.

Cultural Bridges: From Benue to Edo Traditions

Earlier in the year, the couple followed tradition with a significant family and cultural ritual: on April 21, 2025, they visited the Och’Idoma Palace in Otukpo, Benue State, where 2Baba formally introduced Natasha to his native Idoma elders. The meeting, part of the Idoma Security and Unity Symposium, included formal blessings and held cultural weight as a symbolic union between their backgrounds.

During the visit, Natasha was welcomed into the Idoma cultural fold, receiving blessings emblematic of support and acceptance from 2Baba’s community. The traditional rites were important markers leading up to their wedding celebrations.

Confirmation of Union Amid a New Chapter

Months of speculation followed 2Baba’s public announcement of his separation from his wife of over a decade, Annie Macaulay Idibia. The then-unconfirmed but widely discussed relationship between 2Baba and Natasha became public in early 2025 following his separation.

Natasha formally confirmed their marital status in late May during a public event on Children’s Day. In her remarks, recorded and shared on social media, she introduced herself as speaking from her husband’s place, effectively confirming their marriage. By this point, she had also adopted the surname Idibia, underscoring the union’s legitimacy.
